[Sde]Mit dem Relay Tsubame Logo legen wir die letzte Strecke nach Kumamoto zurück.The Relay Tsubame takes us to Kumamoto.
A new conductor is taking over in Kumamoto.
We're not really travelling light through Japan.
Nice cats are used for fencing off the construction area.
Frogs can help with this as well.
Or even some funny bunnies.
Unbelievable, we're in the middle of Japan and find a German sign on a building.
Many steps lead up to the castle of Kumamoto.
This shows the way the walls and foundations are built.
A nice old tree is sitting in the castle garden.
This wall is really steep.
We have finally reached the castle.
Only an underground passage leads into the castle.
This makes it easier to keep enemies outside.
It's always nice to look at those traditional japanese roofs.
Kumamoto castle in its full beauty.
There's even a small bench to take a photograph of yourselves.
And the bench may also be used for a kiss - at least we hope so.
Now it's time again for others to have their photo taken.
Like at all attraction we see lots of school classes on excursion.
Better start practicing early if you want to do good photographs.
Instead of with the castle you can also take a photograph with a samurai.
No trash bins for empty bottles are found here.
A nice model of the old city of Kumamoto.
This scale model of the castle was built created the real castle was rebuilt in the 60's.
Main turret of the castle.
This turret is the only one remaining in almost original condition.
Memory game with painted shells.
Kitchen in the service building.
Japanese carpenters don't need any nails or screws.
The conference room is not restored in original state though.
Large reception room in the service building.
Stone garden for relaxation.
Nice ornaments are used everywhere in the interior design.
Brilliant wall paintings and sliding doors give an idea how beautiful this place must have been.
A video showed how much work it was to recreate those paintings.
Even the ceiling is a piece of perfect handcraft.
You can't stop looking at all the shining paintings.
This door looks to be restored instead of rebuilt.
A nice robe is waiting on the rail for dress up.
The old turret even impresses more than the reconstructed castle.
The castle still is an impressive building.
Let's take a look at the interior of the old turret.
Connecting aisle to the turret.
View across to the castle tower.
The camera is always ready for the next shot.
Stone wall and connecting tunnel.
This castle provides a huge number of scenic views.
Even a simple row of roof tiles has its own charm.
Or just the combincation of the castle and trees.
This view shows pretty well how good the castle is protected by its wall.
We're having a small snack while waiting for the bus.
Entering the grounds to the old samurai villa "Former Hosokawa Gyobutei.
Even in the entrance area this garden is pretty impressive.
Seasons greeting from this nicely colored tree.
Entrance to the villa.

The fire extinguisher is always ready but blends in very nicely into the view.
The interiour is very nice as well.
And every window provides a new and impressive look into the garden.
Or the eye is attracted by nice little things like this water stone.
We're almost on our way to our next goal.
But there's always enough time for nice autumn leafs.
This bus is crowded with a senior ladies group.
Our bus driver safely gets us through the traffic of Kumamoto.
Christmas is approaching rapidly and German toys seem to be something special.
At late afternoon we make it into the garden Suizenji-Koen.
This garden represents the stations along the old Tokaido way between Kyoto and Tokyo, so Mt. Fuji is definitely a must as well.
Interesting contrast between the garden and skyscrapers.
This garden also features a shrine.
Nicely lit wooden plaques.
The shrine is arranged very nice as well, just as the garden.
An old but very honorable tree.
Mt. Fuji is still considered an active volcano, so this little cloud fits in very nicely.
A beautiful view through the whole garden area.
Once more the shrine in the context of the garden.
A nice tea house at the edge of the lake.
A rustic streetcar takes us back to the hotel.
Panoramic view on the new shinkansen station of Kumamoto.
Only 4 months remain for the grande opening of the new shinkansen track between Hakata and Yatsushiru.
There's still some work to do at Kumamoto station.
